A “recyclable” phone that aims to revolutionize the mobile phone industry.
The idea of a sustainable smartphone is far from new, even if it has not gained popularity among fans of iPhone, Samsung, Huawei, etc. But it seems that there is enough interest in such a gadget to justify further iterations. A product called Fairphone is available for pre-order on the manufacturer’s website for the 3rd generation.
Fairphone 3 promises to be easily repairable and made from responsible materials and recycled materials. One of the tasks of the manufacturer is to develop a trend towards repairing smartphones, unlike most offers at the moment, which requires replacing the phone when it no longer works.
Such an initiative will significantly reduce carbon dioxide emissions and consume the resources necessary for the production of smartphones, which is sometimes achieved through practices that threaten the lives and well-being of citizens in countries with poorer economies.
Fairphone 3 was made from tin and tungsten from conflict free zones, gold bears the Fair Trade mark, and copper and plastic are recycled. Manufacturers also want to change the supplier of cobalt – the main component for batteries, which is usually extracted in conditions that do not respect human rights.
The Honest Fairphone has a 5.7-inch Full HD display, a 12-megapixel rear camera and an 8-megapixel selfie camera. It has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 632 processor, 4 GB of RAM, 64 GB of disk space and a 3000 mAh battery. The smartphone was launched on September 3 and can be bought for 450 euros from the Fairphone website.
If you want to get a discount and be sure that your old gadget was destroyed in an environmentally friendly way, you can exchange the old terminal when buying Fairphone 3.
In 2013, the Dutch company Fairphone began implementing fairer electronics. The creation of a telephone, the purpose of which is to have a positive impact on the value chain in the areas of mining, design, production and the life cycle, is expanding the market for products that put ethical values first.
We’ve all seen how glass can be broken with a sound at a certain frequency, but it can also be used to boil water.
Researchers at the SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory at Stanford University have created the strongest underwater sound in the world today. They used an X-ray laser to create extremely powerful sound. Thus, they have created an underwater sound so strong that it can vaporize instantly.
Scientists have been trying to find out how high intensity sound waves can affect biological matter.
To this end, scientists have used a powerful laser to launch X-rays at very thin jets of water. When the rays reached the microscopic strand of water, they instantly vaporized the water molecules.
Researchers have created the strongest sound in the world.
The device used by the researchers was Linac Coherent Light Source.
This is an extremely powerful X-ray laser that can create “molecular black holes”. At the same time, it can heat water to 100,000 degrees Celsius in less than a millionth of a millionth of a second, according to Science Alert.
Also, in the same experiment, the researchers noticed something interesting when it comes to sound. In the process, a cylindrical shock wave propagated along the water jet. According to the researchers, the initial pressure of these shock waves corresponds to the extreme sound intensities. The acoustic pressure resulting from this experiment would be about 270 decibels. This is louder than the sound of a rocket launch.
Such intensity would not only break your eardrum, but could even have the same effect on your lungs or heart.
As a result of the experiment, scientists claim that it is impossible to be able to create a sound louder than underwater.
At present, many developed states are facing difficulties in protecting national IT infrastructures, generated, among others, by the lack of IT security specialists. To encourage and motivate talented young people in this field to join the teams of specialists involved in efforts to ensure IT security, national competitions are organized.
The European Cyber Security Championship offers these competitions a multinational character – the teams of each state being involved both in collaborative exercises and in the competition – to collaborate, and, finally, to compete with each other. The championship tests cover areas such as web security, mobile security, cryptographic puzzles, reverse engineering and investigations, for which they will accumulate points. The fifth edition of the European Cyber Security Championship will take place in Romania, at the Parliament Palace, between October 9 and 11, this year.

Apple is changing its business plan, and the first signal was given at the conference organized by the company in California. No, no new device has been released. Instead, new services have been unveiled, which will make Apple a competitor for Netflix, banks or newsstands.
“We felt we could make a difference in how news is lived and understood,” says Tim Cook, Apple’s chief executive.
Apple Card is a digital credit card, backed by Goldman Sachs and MasterCard. The company promises that there will be no hidden fees and that the transactions will be clearly visible. The system is designed for Apple Pay, but for places where this service does not work, customers will also receive a physical titanium card.
However, the big news is Apple TV Plus, a streaming service similar to Netflix or Amazon Prime. This also includes original productions. Big names from showbiz have already been recruited such as Oprah, Steven Spielberg, Jennifer Anniston, Reese Witherspoon or Jason Momoa.
“We want to be heard, but we also want to listen, to open, to be open and to contribute, so that we can gather hopes and dreams and heal the ruptures between us. That’s why I combined my strength with Apple, ” says Oprah Winfrey, TV producer.
“I’m for the first time at Apple, the place where imagination and technology gather their forces to change the world through sight, hearing and touch,” says Steven Spielberg, director.
Apple seems to want to turn it into a financial services and entertainment company, less focused on phone production. Everything comes amid a drop in iPhone sales worldwide. The news announced today did not excite investors, and the company’s shares fell 1.2 percent.
Unexpected news from Microsoft. Looks like their Edge browser didn’t live up to expectations, and Internet Explorer doesn’t even need to be mentioned. According to reliable sources, Microsoft is giving up the two browsers to build a new one based on Google’s Chromium technology.
Exactly, Microsoft will have a new browser built from scratch, completely different from Edge and IE, which will be based on Chromium engine instead of EdgeHTML. This is good news for everyone. The new browser is likely to come next year with a Windows update. Theoretically it will support the extensions available now on Chrome, so you can make the transition very easy.
Edge is still a good browser, but not enough to attract Chrome or Mozilla users.
